I thought I’d share a sneak peak of the fantastic work we are doing at the school I am working in. This school is exactly what I needed if I was ever to get back into the education sector. The headteacher is focused, driven, has high expectations but most importantly is someone who understands and values spirituality, family, community and well being. ...................................... For over a year now, and what has moved me away from social media and HLC is my day to day job. I have been able to combine my two skills and I am happy with the vision, the team and the community we are creating there. Here is something we are pushing forward. It is something all schools would benefit from, helping children and families in inner London. Our powerful mind can send us into turmoil or make us feel on top of the world. Most of the time it’s just a matter of which mindset we are using. Ironically, our mindset can be affected by the outside world. But the world will NOT change for us, which is why we need to work through our ‘stuff’. Get in control over your own mind and ego instead of wanting to control others. It’s okay to find this ridiculous. It’s perfectly okay to find this so damn hard. We have to accept things as they are. What I do know and believe is that when we keep drip feeding ourselves some ‘higher’ truths or ‘wider’ possibilities of a new perspective or a healthier life, one day we may wake up realising it has been embedded into our core. Once it’s there, although the journey continues and at times feels like it can get harder, you know that no matter what, knowledge is there and with it hopefully you’ll have more meaning and some positive surprises. ——————— I may understand this but it doesn’t mean I find it any easier than you to put it into practice. Be real. Start where you are. HLC’s reminders 1. Let your light shine bright. Honour and protect it. 2. Give yourself permission to do this. Whether you have to let go of situations, people or problems. 3. Accept that suffering will come and go and move on from it. 4. Suffering may begin with others or ourselves but one thing we forget is that it definitely ends with us. We can end it by transforming it or by making concrete decisions for a new way of life. Because despite how it seems, we are actually in control. 5. Transform how you see it or feel it and move forward. The outcome? More of that natural medicine we need...peace. Life is way too precious and short. Ammoxosto (Famagusta). My mums birth place. It was once a home to many and now it is known as a ghost town. It is the only place in Cyprus that has not been inhabited since 1974. If it had been, at least in that way, it would have lived on and those, like my mama, who were born here could have visited, instead of feeling as if they have been waiting to return. It’s been this way for nearly 44 years. For the first time in my life I was able to visit northern Cyprus and understand what she has been telling me. I haven’t been to Cyprus for roughly 15 years and it is only in 2003 that both Greek and Turkish Cypriots were able to cross the green line after decades of partition. Mama has told me about Ammoxosto’s golden sands, clear waters, her ‘paradise’ since I can remember but all we saw was a struggle that was unfinished and unsettled. There was no symbolism of hope or peace, something we desperately need more in the world. The irony of my post amidst the current climate makes it all the more important for me to share our travels there. War only causes suffering and continues after it has ‘finished’. I was moved by what this place meant to me as the daughter of a refugee. I felt the sand between my toes and watched in awe of the clear water in front of me. Beside me a ghost town, a no go zone, an untouched land of debris, abandoned buildings, broken glass and the stories we will not know and not fully understand. The symbol of my mums struggle, the external one is obvious but the internal one that gripped her while she tried to come to terms with life in a different country was staring at me and the notion we can ‘choose’ our life, made me rethink this belief we have within the circle of self development and ‘new age’ spirituality. But the past can stare at you in the face and you will never be able to change it. Yes, you’ll move on and do great things but you know what the past will look like and there will be reminders such as this town. War, greed, power, fear, struggle, lost dreams, division. This is what this ghost town now symbolised. It simply showed me a world that is not changing or one we can learn from. (Continued in comments)

Happy New Year to everyone and all that has been, all that is and all that will be! Let 2018 help us have good intentions, make better decisions, a few more selfless acts and be loving to all. May we delve deeper into what is true for ourselves and encourage us to be more compassionate. I have learnt a lot in my short existence but it feels as if it is always just the beginning. There is always a new way to look at life, there is always a new obstacle to navigate through and there is always work to be done. You are not alone in this struggle. We are not perfect but we do have a responsibility and a choice to help create a more fairer and peaceful existence for all. We may want to create world peace but if we're not creating love and peace in our own heart and home, how can we be of service to others? Love yourself enough and reach out to those who love you. Let 2018 help us take down the masks we have mislead ourselves to believe will protect us. Let us feel and use our hearts more. Let 2018 begin with Gratitude. The greatest gift I could have hoped for in this life are all the souls I have around me. They are my treasures. They are diamonds, creating an abundant life simply by being my husband, family, my tribe, my friends, for loving, accepting and believing in me, for reminding me to enjoy life, for inspiring me to want more from life and who laugh, cry and connect with me. I thank them for believing in me especially when I lose sight of my greatness. Their presence in my life has been fundamental in creating the Me that is today. I will love and support you all as much as I can. If we look around us today there is a lot to be thankful for. Write down all that you have been grateful for in 2017 and for the beginning of 2018. Most earthlings enjoy discovering what travel has to offer, yet rarely want to travel and explore the narrow streets of their own heart and mind. #openyourmind #openyourheart .......... I have taken a break writing about my travels. There have been other things I have had to use my energy for. Focus on a few good things in life is more productive than trying to be and do everything. Being able to walk alone has been a blessing because it taught me to stand tall in the face of uncertainty. I have been prodded, pushed, tested and challenged in life, just as you have. We all have and we make a choice. - A choice to keep going. - A choice to walk away. - A choice to enter into life once again. .......... Yesterday, I went on a healing walk. I sat outside for hours. I allowed my mind to drift. With each step I let go of any pain or worry I was feeling and I felt so much connection to goodness. I connected to everything. It cleansed me of stagnant energy and it gave me a feeling of “I can begin again.” ........... Letting go of those who try to control or manipulate me or others in my life, has become such a great act of Love. The only thing that succeeds in the end is Love. If people choose to live a lie, this is their choice. You know what is real. You won’t take part in that game and if you know yourself, they’re messing with the wrong soul. ........... We should not be fooled by people’s loving nature because, where there is real love there is a fearlessness some may never learn to have. When we love ourselves enough we are never afraid to let people go who are not good for us. What do you need to walk off today? ........ Try a healing walk. State your intention and with each step let the thoughts, the worries and the scenarios go. Sit outside and make sure you breath. Appreciate your surroundings, appreciate how far you have come and who you are. 27th August 2017 United in Love and Light with my husband, Louis-Philippe ........................................ I am blessed with Divine love. A love that moves through me and surrounds me and I have been blessed with his love. ........................................ Another awesome chapter in life has begun and I am excited at what it holds. The last 5 years have been my own battlefield and I am humbled by what it brought me. I hope one day I will share more. It has been challenging to put it lightly, but with a lot of time, a lot of love, support and patience, life got better. Whatever you are experiencing in life right now please remember life surprises you in the best ways too. ........................................ I am surprised and in awe of it all. I took care of me, fell in love with ‘me’ and then, as if on cue, LP came into my life while I was on a wonderful island called Dondet in Laos in 2015. ........................................
